在口腔護理領域中,自上世紀40年代首先發(fā)現(xiàn)含鋅化合物具有抗牙菌斑的作用,能幫助防齲后,檸檬酸鋅等化合物開始被加入牙膏中,幫助實現(xiàn)控制牙菌斑、緩解牙齦出血牙齦炎、抗牙結(jié)石等功能。按美國食品藥品監(jiān)督管理局對控制牙菌斑和緩解牙齦炎功效成分的分類,檸檬酸鋅安全等級為Ⅰ,功效等級為Ⅲ,是牙膏中一種安全有效的功效成分。活性物檸檬酸鋅,主要是介入牙菌斑生長的第二、三階段,通過抑制口腔細菌的生長,減少牙菌斑的形成。鋅化合物抗菌機理較多,主要有鋅離子溶出抗菌學說、接觸抗菌學說和納米抗菌學說等。檸檬酸鋅主要是以鋅離子溶出抗菌學說為主,溶解的鋅離子與細菌接觸而產(chǎn)生抗菌作用。鋅離子溶出抗菌可通過:(1) 破壞細胞膜功能;(2)使細菌蛋白質(zhì)或酶類變性;(3)進入細菌細胞內(nèi)的鋅離子也可能與核酸結(jié)合,破壞細胞的分裂繁殖能力,達到抑菌和殺菌的目的。基于鋅離子溶出抗菌學說,許多文獻研究發(fā)現(xiàn)實際使用含檸檬酸鋅牙膏后,口腔鋅濃度很快就能提高,甚至能保留較長時間。臨床研究發(fā)現(xiàn)使用牙膏提高口腔鋅濃度的同時,能有效地抑制口腔細菌產(chǎn)生,能減少牙菌斑指數(shù),并且減輕色素沉積。
